2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 9 – Race – Germany – 7th July
Race Summary:
- Pecco Bagnaia won the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland after Jorge Martin crashed while leading with a few laps remaining
- Marc Marquez made an incredible charge from P13 on the grid to finish second
- Alex Marquez completed a historic double podium with a third-place finish
- Martin got the best start but didn’t have a perfect Turn 1, allowing Miguel Oliveira to challenge for the lead
- Bagnaia overtook Oliveira at the end of Lap 1 and began chasing Martin
- Marc Marquez battled with Morbidelli and overtook him for third, then made a move on Alex Marquez, into second.
- Bagnaia won the race with just under a 4-second margin, becoming the Championship leader, 10 points ahead of Martin
- Enea Bastianini finished fourth, followed by Franco Morbidelli in fifth
- Miguel Oliveira finished sixth after a strong performance
- Pedro Acosta won a tight battle for seventh ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Brad Binder.
- Augusto Fernandez and Johann Zarco received tyre pressure penalties, affecting their final positions
