2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 8 – Race – Dutch TT – 30th June

Race Summary:

  • Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) won the Motul TT Assen, completing a double victory from pole
  • Bagnaia cut his Championship deficit to 10 points, with Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) finishing second after receiving a grid penalty
  • Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) completed the podium from 10th place on the grid
  • Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) finished fourth but was later penalized for tyre pressure infringement and dropped to P10.
  • Viñales received a penalty for exceeding track limits, dropping him to 6th.
  • Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) crashed and suffered right wrist fracture.

Comments:

  • Bagnaia is first rider since 2022 to win three consecutive MotoGP™ races in a season
  • Bagnaia’s win tied Casey Stoner’s record of 23 wins with Ducati; the two most successful riders for Ducati
  • Fifth successive MotoGP race with all Ducati podium
