2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 8 – Sprint – Dutch TT – 29th June

Race Summary:

  • Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) takes the holeshot from pole position and goes on to win the Tissot Sprint at the Motul TT Assen, making it back-to-back Sprint wins for the first time in his career
  • Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) finishes second – championship gap reduced to just 15 points.
  • Martin receives a 3-place grid penalty for Sunday after being judged to have disturbed Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing) in qualifying
  • Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) completes the Sprint podium in third place
  • Bastianini finishes fourth after a strong recovery from outside the top ten
  • Fabio Di Giannantonio completes the top five, followed by Brad Binder
  • Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) climbs to P7 from P13 on the grid
  • Alex Marquez penalized with a Long Lap for track limits 
  • Marc Marquez crashed out in the early stages
  • Aleix Espargaro crashes out late in the race and will undergo a medical review before Sunday’s warm-up
