Race Summary:
- Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) takes the holeshot from pole position and goes on to win the Tissot Sprint at the Motul TT Assen, making it back-to-back Sprint wins for the first time in his career
- Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) finishes second – championship gap reduced to just 15 points.
- Martin receives a 3-place grid penalty for Sunday after being judged to have disturbed Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing) in qualifying
- Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) completes the Sprint podium in third place
- Bastianini finishes fourth after a strong recovery from outside the top ten
- Fabio Di Giannantonio completes the top five, followed by Brad Binder
- Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) climbs to P7 from P13 on the grid
- Alex Marquez penalized with a Long Lap for track limits
- Marc Marquez crashed out in the early stages
- Aleix Espargaro crashes out late in the race and will undergo a medical review before Sunday’s warm-up
