2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 3 – Sprint- USA – Austin – 13th April

Race Summary:

  • Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) won the Tissot Sprint for the second time in a row, having started from pole. He maintained a dominant pace and secured the win by more than 2 seconds, leaving the other riders battling for second.
  • Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) finished in second after he managed to fend off a challenge from Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) and Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing).
  • Jorge Martin finished in third, extending his championship lead by passing Acosta towards the end of the race.
  • Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) retired early due to a technical issue.
  • Crashes for: Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team), Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR), and Johann Zarco (Castrol Honda LCR). No major injuries were reported.
  • Pecco Bagnaia never featured near the front of the race, dropping down to tenth by the end of the opening lap and eventually finishing 8th
