2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 13 – Sprint – San Marino – 7th September

Race Summary:

  • Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) extends his Championship lead with a Tissot Sprint win at the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. Martin now leads by 26 points over Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), who finished second
  • Bagnaia had to fend off late pressure from Franco Morbidelli(Prima Pramac Racing) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team)
  • Bagnaia got a good start from pole, but Martin’s jump off the line was superior, allowing him to take the lead early and never look back. Bagnaia chased hard but couldn’t bridge the gap
  • Bastianini, who started from P8, made a huge gain to finish in fourth
  • Marquez passed Binder and then Acosta, ultimately finishing fifth after a last-lap move on the rookie
  • Acosta eventually finished in sixth ahead of fellow KTM rider Binder
  • The big losers off the start were Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who both slid out early on, without injury
