2024 – MotoGP™ – Rd 4 – Sprint- Spain – Jerez – 27th April
Race Summary:
- Sprint started with still some damp patches, but largely dry track
- Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac Racing) dominated the Sprint, extending his Championship lead
- Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) claimed his first Sprint podium in second
- Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) crossed the line third, from 23rd position on the grid, but was penalized for tyre pressure infringement, demoting him to fifth
- Dani Pedrosa (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) returned as a wildcard, finished third after Quartararo’s penalty
- Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) stayed consistent to finish a season-best fourth
- Marc Márquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) led in the early stages after a great start but crashed out while in contention for the win; restarted to finish P6
- Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing) crossed the line in sixth but received a penalty for tyre pressure, dropping him out of the points
- World Champion Pecco Bagnaia crashed when tangling with Brad Binder and Marco Bezzecchi
- Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) fell in the late stages when in the podium battle
- Many other crashes including: Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team), Alex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing)
